He was a senior administrative analyst for the University of California, Berkeley - Institute for the Study of Social Change (now: Institute for the Study of Societal Issues https://issi.berkeley.edu/, Prevention by Design for seven years. He provided direct training, technical assistance, and planning support to county and community- based behavioral health, mental health and alcohol and drug prevention departments and programs in the Southern Region of California.
